Family Voices has launched My Language, My Care, a free online course about language access rights and services. In this course, participants learn how health care is better when people can communicate with their health care provider in their preferred language.
The course is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and American Sign Language. The course uses plain language to inform and empower people to get the best possible care. Learn more at www.familyvoices.org/mylanguagemycare.
My Language, My Care helps families learn more about language access. By the end of the course, participants will understand their rights under the law, know more about interpreter confidentiality, and have the tools to advocate for high quality language access services in the health care setting.
The course can be completed in as little as 3 hours. A certificate of completion will be provided after finishing all six modules of the training course.
Once families register for the My Language, My Care course, they will have access to a free toolkit with information from the course, available in English, Spanish and Chinese.
You can take the course yourself and tell others about it. Please use our media kit to find social media posts, newsletter messages, and images that can help you share information about My Language, My Care with the families you serve. Open the Media Kit
