Five Ways to Help Kids Understand Disabilities: Check out the Arc of the United States’ recent Facebook post for simple ways to help kids understand disabilities. “Kids notice differences. They might ask questions, stare, or feel unsure about how to connect. These moments aren’t something to avoid. They’re opportunities to teach kindness, respect, and empathy. Back-to-school is the perfect time to talk to kids about disabilities and differences.”
Request for Proposals Opportunity with the RAPID Survey Project at the Stanford Center on Early Childhood: The RAPID Survey Project team at the Stanford Center on Early Childhood is now accepting responses to the request for proposals to join the 2026 Community Voices cohort. This is a great opportunity for organizations working with and for young children and families to partner with us over two years to gather timely, relevant, and actionable data from parents and/or child care providers. Together with selected organizations, we will co-design ongoing surveys and implement strategies for partners to use the data and caregiver voices to inform local policies, programs, and other services and supports in their communities. If Subcommittee members have any questions about this RFP or Community Voices in general, they can send them along to rapidcommunity@stanford.edu. The deadline for applying is Friday, October 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
