  • Medicaid/CHIP Monthly Enrollment Tracker: This tracker by KFF presents the most recent data on monthly Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollment reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as part of the Performance Indicator Project. States and advocates can use this tracker to understand the impact of changing Medicaid policies on the number of children and adults enrolled in Medicaid.

Child Trends

These resources from Child Trends are valuable for employers who are looking to help youth and young adults transition into the work, including those with special healthcare needs and disabilities. Understanding the needs of youth and young adults with special healthcare needs and adapting workplace policies and practices will ensure the success of the next generation of their workforce.

  • Lessons for Centering Young Adult Worker Voice in Employer Engagement: Workforce development organizations are challenged with matching young workers’ interests and needs with the realities that employers face. Hearing directly from young adults and earlier career workers through things like focus groups, advisory boards, interviews, and surveys can give employers valuable insights to help them attract and retain new workers and better support their young employees. Learn what workforce organizations around the country discovered when trying some of these approaches.
  • Leveraging Positive Youth Development to Build and Sustain a Young Adult Workforce: Young adulthood (ages 18 to 29) is a critical time for building the skills, confidence, and experiences needed to thrive later in life—including in the workforce. Professionals who work with young adults should know how to draw on young people’s existing strengths to support their professional growth and long-term success. This blog explores how positive youth development principles apply in workforce development settings for young adults.

  • What to Know About Food Allergies in School and Out-of-School Settings: This PowerPoint presentation was created by a youth leadership team made up of youth ages 14-18 living with food allergies through a partnership between Family Voices and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is available in both English and Spanish. Youth are encouraged to use the presentation in their schools, clubs, teams, and community programs to help raise awareness of food allergies in schools and out-of-school time (OST) settings.

Through personal stories and short video reflections, youth share their personal experiences and perspectives on topics including:

    • What a “normal” day looks like with food allergies compared to without
    • How food allergies can affect someone’s social life
    • Common thoughts and considerations people with food allergies manage daily
    • Ways peers, schools, and programs can better support individuals with food allergies
