After much careful thought and consultation about the coronavirus pandemic, Family Voices has decided to cancel the Family Engagement Convening, scheduled for March 21 in the Washington DC area. Participants will receive a full refund of their registration fee as soon as these can be processed. We will update this post to include tips on requesting refunds from airlines and hotels.

Family Voices is dedicated to supporting the meaningful engagement of children and youth with special care needs and their families in prevention, health, and wellness in clinical and community settings. The individual health, well-being, and safety of family leaders, our staff, and all of the families of which they are a part have guided us in coming to this conclusion.

This is a disappointing but necessary decision.  Many family leaders from across the country contributed to the planning of what promised to be a powerful learning opportunity. Alternative plans are already in the works to create a virtual convening that we hope will also provide a rich experience.  We will keep you posted on plans as they develop.

Thank you for your ongoing leadership in your communities on behalf of the children, youth, and families we represent, especially during this complicated time.
