At Family Voices, July marks the beginning of the new fiscal year, which comes with the challenges of closing out the old year alongside the excitement of new beginnings. Your organization might be experiencing the same thing right now.
Reauthorization of F2F Funding
The reauthorization of F2F funding is also weighing heavily on my mind, as I’m sure is true for you as well. As Executive Director of Family Voices, this is a critical focus of mine, and I am working with our staff, Board and consultants to develop plans to not only secure previous levels of funding but also expand funding for each F2F. I will keep you informed so we can be collaborators in the efforts to have F2F funding reauthorized.
Resource Highlight
One recent development that I want to highlight is the Family Voices en Español publication that was released just a couple of weeks ago. This online magazine shows the commitment of our staff to meet the needs of Spanish-speaking families. Project coordinator, Vanessa Rodríguez, worked hard to bring Family Voices en Español to life, and the content has something for everyone. It is available in English and Spanish, and I hope you will take the time to read it and enjoy learning about families in our network.
Funding for The Unwinding
In the coming weeks, you will hear more about upcoming funding to help families navigate the unwinding of the public health emergency and Medicaid enrollment. Grants will be available to F2Fs and FVAOs to support your work with families. Importantly, we will be very focused on measurement in this initiative – measuring the impact of the interventions families receive and demonstrating how our work has an impact on child and family health.
Looking Back and Planning Forward
As I look back on the past fiscal year, I see a tremendous amount of progress: completed projects, new partners and connections, and many advances made in our mission. Looking ahead, I see many opportunities to build relationships, enhance our work, and serve our network in new and exciting ways.
