OIG signs off on Medicaid plan’s preventive screening incentive payments (FierceHealthcare, 10/19/18) Last week, the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) signed off on a Medicaid insurer’s plan to make incentive payments to providers that increased preventive screening rates.
Status of State Waiver Proposals:
Michigan
In September, Michigan proposed changes to its request for an extension of its “Healthy Michigan” Medicaid waiver. The state is requesting permission from the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish work requirements and charge premiums for certain Medicaid enrollees. Comments can be submitted until October 26 at 11:00 pm ET.
Missouri
Missouri has submitted an amendment to the “Gateway to Better Health” demonstration that would authorize the provision of a limited substance use disorder benefit and would update the standard terms and conditions to clarify that the state is not required to adhere to the rebate requirements of Section 1927 of the Social Security Act. Federal comments are due on October 30.
Tennessee
Tennessee has posted an amendment to the TennCare II demonstration that would impose a work/community engagement requirement on parents and caretakers, unless they are exempt. The state is accepting comments through October 26.
