Emily Bill is very excited to be joining Family Voices Board of Directors this year. Emily is a resident of Westborough, Ma and is supported by Metro Residential Services, (MRS) which falls under the Metro Region of DDS. Emily is recognized as a strong Self Advocate and leader within MRS. Emily serves as President of MRS Speaks Out, a group of Self Advocates that are interested in Public Speaking and Advocacy. They fund raise for MRS activities. Emily really enjoys public speaking and advocating for herself and her peers within the Metro Region. She is a member of the Michael Carter Lisnow Human Rights Committee and sits on their Positive Behavior Supports Committee as well. Emily co created and co facilitates DDS Metro Region’s Inclusion Matters curriculum. Emily has presented her life story at The Mass Advocates Standing Strong Conference previously. Emily was recently cast as Dorothy in MRS’s production of Wizard of Oz. The play should take place in February or March of 2026. Emily has participated in inclusive sports programs including electric wheelchair soccer and basketball. Emily has also participated in Special Olympics swimming, where she earned Gold and Silver medals. She has taken American Sign Language (ASL) classes, and her artwork has been on display at Boston Public Market. When she isn’t busy advocating for equal rights, Emily enjoys painting, watching YouTube and movies. Emily is also an amazing friend that many of her peers look up to. As a youth, Emily was a member of Family Voices Youth Task Force Board and she is so excited to now serve as a member of The Board of Directors with the experience that she has gained throughout the years.
